A rare oil painting by Alexander Calder

Having been acquired directly from Perls Galleries in New York in 1974, the piece has very strong provenance. Perls was one of the primary dealers of Calder’s work.

The painting has never been to auction and has remained in the same private collection since 1974 and is completely fresh to the market.

There are no other examples nearly as beautiful or depicting the same subject matter in recent history, this is a rare painting.

This color combination is rare and very desirable for Calder.

When looking at the comparative auction records, two things are clear: 1) Paintings of this quality rarely become available. 2) No other works have been to market that reflect this iconic, beautiful imagery.
